The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is committed to providing seamless care for Veterans, including access to a complete electronic health record (EHR) and shared, transparent care pathways with the Department of Defense (DoD) and community providers.  In order to ensure seamless care for Veterans, VA will move toward a single common system by adopting the electronic health record (EHR) system that is being deployed by DoD, which at its core consists of Cerner Millennium.   Currently the VA is undertaking an enterprise-wide Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) effort through the procurement of the Cerner commercial electronic health record software and related support services. This modernization of VA’s health information management systems will result in a common, single, lifetime health record that both DoD and VA can access, with anticipated improvements in patient care and safety.

ERPi is providing a range of program management, administrative, and technical support activities to the VA’s EHRM Program Executive Office (PEO) in support of this transformative and high-profile enterprise-wide effort. The scope of this program includes PMO support of the EHRM, including the maintenance, enhancement and decommissioning of supporting legacy health systems and support for all projects and programs required for the success of the EHRM.

In this vital VA EHR transformation is seeking a Clinical Process Requirements Analyst whose duties are as follows:

Functional Requirements
·        Requirements Documentation – lead the identification and documentation of EHR clinical process requirements; will coordinate with software configuration team to define design solutions, establish technical business rules, and implementation plans
·        Ensure compliance with strict project timelines for development.
·        Leverage functional expertise and stakeholder engagements as inputs to develop recommended process improvements; will lead other information gathering sessions to define business process workflows to document ‘as-is’ and ‘to be.’
·        Evaluate development process and procedures
·        Evaluate quality and completeness of technical design documents
·        Evaluate quality of code reviews, unit testing, and system integration testing
·        Perform reviews other work products, procedures, and acceptance criteria.
Required Skills and Experience:
·        BA/BS degree in a clinical field (e.g. BSN) with current license/certification or eligibility (e.g. RN);
·        3 years relevant experience working in a clinical setting (e.g., Nursing, Radiology, Pharmacy, etc.);
·        3 years relevant experience with health care consulting, electronic health records, health care project management, health care operations analysis, and/or clinical process improvement; 
•    Willingness to facilitate end user training and ensuring that systems capabilities are evaluated to meet end user requirements and organizational strategic planning objectives;
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
·        Excellent project management skills;
·        Effective written and verbal communication skills;
•     Must live in the Washington, DC Metro area.

Skills Preferred: Demonstrates experience with any of the following
  • Experience in health care clinical process analysis and electronic health records;
  • Relevant Cerner Certifications (e.g., Healtheintent, Lighthouse, etc.), or similar;
  • Excellent data-visualization, presentation, and communication skills with ability to demonstrate these skills in both face-to-face and electronic formats;
  • Experience with HL7, ADT, and various other interface types.
