Project Manager

ERPi is looking for experienced consultants to become part of a growth opportunity, including the expansion of our core project management services.
In this instance, we are seeking a project manager to support a core mission program at the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), Loan Guaranty Services (LGY). This program will transform the way that home loans for service members, Veterans, and their surviving spouses are managed by creating a refreshed application that interfaces between the VA and the mortgage servicing community. The current application manages over 28 million active loans, with a complex and diverse set of external and internal stakeholders that are impacted by this product.  This role would be part of the Business Program Management Office (PMO) component of the broader VA initiative, and the PMO includes areas like business analyses, stakeholder engagement, change management, and technology acquisition.
Position Overview
The Project Manager will help lead this transformational program, and will manage a team that together makes this initiative a success.  The Project Manager will be responsible for co-leading the design, stand-up and operationalization of a program management office that enables new capabilities within the VA. The Project Manager will lead the execution of the following duties: acquisition and contract management, performance reporting, scope management, schedule management, risk/ issue management, strategic planning, program communications, quality management, and integration management. 
Specific Tasks May Include:
  • Formulate and define the target future state, scope, objectives and priorities in accordance with the customer’s expressed needs, opportunities, and pain points;
  • Define, recruit, manage and mentor the optimal mix of project resources;
  • Provide expert-level project management support, from project initiation to execution and monitoring;
  • Facilitate meetings, develop and maintain work plans, and develop monthly status reports and executive-level briefings;
  • Deliver executive-level oral and written communications (briefings, presentations, and strategic documentation);
  • Proactively engage and manage client relations in a manner that establishes ERPi as a strategic partner to the VA;
  • Support client growth initiatives by identifying additional opportunities and scoping/responding to follow-on tasks.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Four or more years of experience performing general management consulting and/or system integration consulting through the full project lifecycle.
  • Seven or more years of relevant project management experience.
  • Master’s Degree
  • Understanding and proven application of project management best practices such as PMI’s PMBOK.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to define, collect, and analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make logical decisions.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills.
  • Proven experience developing detailed project plans, project budgets, resource plans, and risk management plans.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, results-driven environment.
  • Ability to build and manage internal and external relationships at all levels within an organization while possessing diplomacy and cooperative style necessary to work effectively with diverse individuals across functional disciplines.
  • Ability to think strategically to effectively assess clients’ situation and assemble service solutions to meet clients’ needs.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or other Project Management Institute (PMI) certifications strongly preferred
  • Experience with business requirements and/or business process re-engineering strongly preferred
  • Experience working on a program management office team
  • Experience working on and/or supporting federal proposals
