Business Analyst

Opportunity Overview:
ERPi is experiencing a period of tremendous growth, including the expansion of its core service offerings into the areas of data science, fraud prevention, and analytics.  We are seeking candidates who combine a consulting background with expertise in business analysis, testing and/or requirements development/elicitation/documentation to help enhance the analytics capability for the firm, as well as deliver associated services to clients in the Federal government.

Position Overview:
Within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) is transforming its ability to serve Veterans, including the creation and stand-up of a new program and analytical capability to a) detect and prevent benefits fraud/waste/abuse, and b) address recurring data quality issues. VBA manages over $90B annually in benefits.
In support of this effort, ERPi is looking for a qualified Business Analysts to:
  • Take upstream issues identified by data analysts as requiring remediation and facilitate development of requirements for proposed fixes
  • Coordinate testing of requirements post-implementation
  • Support efforts to improve the policies, and tools the agency has at its disposal to prevent fraud/waste/abuse and improve data quality
  • Assist in standing up overall data quality and fraud prevention capabilities within VBA
Specific tasks may include:
  • Facilitation of requirements related discussions with business owners and stakeholders as well as IT personnel
  • Documentation of proposed requirements in use cases or user stories
  • Facilitation of requirements sign off or approval process
  • Management of stakeholders in both the business and IT communities (including both contractors and government personnel)
  • Coordination of communications with business and IT stakeholder group across several teams and offices
  • Development of test plans, test cases, test scripts and other testing materials
Required Skills and Experience:
  • BA/BS degree
  • 8 years of experience in task areas relevant to this contract
  • Understanding and proven application of agile and waterfall software development and testing best practices
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and communication skills
  • Proven experience developing business requirements and test plans
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, results-driven environment
  • Ability to build internal and external relationships at all levels within an organization while possessing diplomacy and cooperative style necessary to work effectively with diverse individuals across functional disciplines
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Experience working within Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), and/or Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA)
  • Experience defining requirements, system designs that improve IT application data quality
  • Experience supporting and participating in user functional testing
