Site Operations Manager

Position Overview:
Within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) is looking to modernize its operating model for claims processing, including increased use of outsourcing that necessitates the design and stand up of managed services operations and accompanying total quality programs.  In support of this effort, ERPi is looking for qualified Site Operations Managers to:
  • Supervise/manage all aspects of a managed services operation, including daily production planning/monitoring, workload forecasting, workload processing, management analysis and reporting (e.g., performance, financial, etc.), personnel management, and other general business management activities (as needed in response to operations)
  • Ensure efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scoping, development, design, and direction of daily operations
  • Assure the delivery of claims processing services according to contract cost, schedule, and performance requirements
  • Coordinate and execute all daily operations, including staffing, resources management, and reporting
  • Provide rapid and accurate communication/feedback to program management and directly to the customer regarding the day-to-day operations of the site
  • Effectively resolve problems and/or conflicts and maintain open communication with the program management and the customer
  • Anticipate and pro-actively take action on unfavorable performance issues as appropriate
  • Develops processes and procedures that will optimize operational efficiency and quality assurance, including a Total Quality program that will be used in continuous improvement and quality assurance of managed service operations
  • Identify, design, and implement operational enhancements/changes to processes, human resource management, technology modifications/enhancements, etc.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (e.g., BS, BA)
  • Two years of experience in operations management, preferably managed services environments
  • Experience and knowledge in areas such as:  Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Performance Measurement/Management, Business Process Improvement
  • Knowledge and experience in project management and knowledge of process and performance management and improvement
  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer and in the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on attention to detail
  • Ability to be an innovative, resourceful, and collaborative problem solver
  • Strong organization, prioritization, team-work and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate thoughts, ideas, and solutions logically in written and oral situations
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, results-driven environment
Additional Skills and Experience:
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Veterans Affairs domain and/or medical claims
  • Managed services operations
