General Management Consultant

Position Overview:

Within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) is transforming its ability to serve Veterans and ensure successful and efficient delivery of the $90BN in benefits it delivers annually. ERPi has been tasked with helping to create and stand up a new program and analytical capability at VBA to a) detect and prevent benefits fraud/waste/abuse, and b) address recurring data quality issues.
 
In support of this effort, ERPi is looking for qualified General Management Consultants to:
 
  • Shape and execute various types of business analyses that will shape and drive implementation of the future strategic vision, operating model, and supporting business infrastructure of a large, complex, enterprise-wide anti-fraud organization
  • Develop various types of work products (e.g., reports, analytical decks, etc.) that translate detailed analytical results into compelling business rationale for proposed organizational changes
  • Develop a strategic roadmap and plan for the evolution of the VBA Benefits Data Quality & Fraud program into an institutionalized entity
  • Engage leadership across the organization highlighting and communicating key anti-fraud findings, next steps, and implementation of the strategic vision
  • Develop understanding of how various industries (federal and commercial) combat issues/threats pertaining to Fraud and Data Quality issues, and leverage corresponding best practices, to successfully harden VBA against fraudulent activity
  • Design, stand-up and operationalize a strategic program office responsible for shaping and driving VBA anti-fraud activities, including policies, procedures, and operating chains of command
 
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (e.g., BS, BA)
  • Five (or more) years of experience in management consulting, including areas such as:  Business Analysis, Organizational Analysis, Performance Measurement/Management, Organizational Transformation, Business Process Reengineering/Improvement, Change Management, Economic (Cost) Analysis, Business Case Analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on attention to detail
  • Ability to be an innovative, resourceful, and collaborative problem solver
  • Strong organization, prioritization, team-work and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate thoughts, ideas, and solutions logically in written and oral situations
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, results-driven environment
  • Ability to provide thought leadership to senior level client leadership
 
Additional Skills and Experience:
  • Experience at VBA preferred
  • Experience with anti-fraud organizations at other Federal agencies a plus
  • Experience using statistical programming tools such as R, Python, etc. a plus
