ERPi is seeking Healthcare IT Project Managers to serve as consultants and project management experts to VHA’s Community Care Office, combining a passion for improving Veteran healthcare, consulting skills, IT project management skills, and federal and/or private sector healthcare industry experience to help improve the performance of VHA’s purchased care and revenue cycle operations.

The Healthcare IT Project Manager oversees a team of Consultants and directly engages with VA stakeholders to develop and implement creative solutions to resolve business process problems, and to support development and deployment of applications while maintaining positive customer relationships at all levels of the organization.  The Healthcare IT Project Manager may be assigned to one large complex multi-year project or multiple smaller or shorter duration projects.  This role requires excellent written and verbal communication, staff management, and client relationship building/management skills.

The Healthcare IT Project Manager is responsible for coordination and management of all aspects of project implementation according to the established time schedule.  The Healthcare IT Project Manager will work closely with supporting staff and upper management to make sure that the scope and direction of each project is on schedule and oversee the quality of project deliverables.
Role Description:

The IT Project Manager will:
  • Coordinate, review and develop business and IT architecture documentation
  • Identify IT solutions to address business needs of clients
  • Liaise effectively with technical and non-technical project stakeholders to determine requirements
  • Plan, organize and direct all activities as required for the full implementation of project goals and objectives
  • Ensure that project activities are consistent with the project objectives and that objectives can be met with available resources
  • Ensure the project meets targets, budgets and timelines, with appropriate reporting and evaluation
  • This role requires a combination of strong analytical skills, IT project management skills, healthcare revenue cycle and clinical operations process knowledge, strong organization and prioritization skills, ability to work in a dynamic, results-driven environment, ability to build and manage internal and external relationships at all levels, ability to think strategically to effectively assess clients’ situation and assemble solutions to meet needs, and excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Requires excellence in oral and written communications (to include: briefings, presentations, and client ready documentation).
  • Must be able to manage day-to-day client relationships and communications and represent ERPi at client progress meetings and briefings.
  • Must be able to prepare quality client deliverables, progress reports and client briefings.
  • Must support client growth initiatives by identifying additional opportunities and scoping/responding to follow-on tasks.
Required Skills and Experiences:
  • Five years of IT project management experience, across the full project lifecycle
  • Demonstrated experience in project management using best practices from PMI’s PMBOK
  • Experience developing solution architecture
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Strong knowledge and skills with Microsoft Suite including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, results-driven environment
  • Strong budget and timeline management
  • Strong people management skills
  • Ability to build and manage internal and external relationships at all levels
  • Ability to think strategically to assess clients’ situation and assemble solutions to meet needs
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
Additional Skills Desired
  • Experience working with federal and/or private sector healthcare systems

  • Management consulting (or similar project-based) experience
Education and Certifications Requirements
  • Bachelors degree
  • Masters degree desirable
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desirable
