VistA Standardization SME

ERPi is currently seeking a full-time VistA Standardization SME to provide onsite support at our Washington, DC site.
 
The Role:
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is committed to providing seamless care for Veterans, including access to a complete electronic health record (EHR) and shared, transparent care pathways with the Department of Defense (DoD) and community providers.  In order to ensure seamless care for Veterans, VA will move toward a single common system by adopting the electronic health record (EHR) system that is being deployed by DoD, which at its core consists of Cerner Millennium.   Currently the VA is undertaking an enterprise-wide Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) effort through the procurement of the Cerner commercial electronic health record software and related support services. This modernization of VA’s health information management systems will result in a common, single, lifetime health record that both DoD and VA can access, with anticipated improvements in patient care and safety.

This role will need an innovative technical leader with a focus on developing and deploying tactical technology-based solutions to enterprise systems migration problems.  To be successful, the applicant must be experienced in the formation, implementation, and interpretation of executive VA guidance.  A successful applicant will also be highly experienced in enterprise migration activities, ranging from architecture, process design, data quality assurance, and acceptance; this experience will ideally be on systems migrations which are implemented on a global scale. 
 
ESSENTIAL: Health care industry expertise, especially regarding industry data exchange standards, data interface, architecture and quality as well as experience with design and leadership of major health care IT initiatives on national enterprises.
 
Required Skills and Experience:
  • VistA Architectural SME, both from an enterprise and package level
  • M / FileMan experience, with a focus on VA specific implementation matters
  • Architect experience examples
  • Experience with IT policy interpretation and application via governance and guidance
  • Data Architect, with a focus on enterprise data migrations
  • Data Quality experience, with a focus on data transformation, migration, and integration
  • Experience with adapting and integrating legacy systems to new infrastructure
  • Enterprise Integration experience, with a focus on performance and robustness
  • Healthcare systems experience, with a focus on patient safety, the ethical management of clinical data, and managing the clinical impacts of a large-scale systems migration
     
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with consulting at the VA
  • Experience working on Electronic Healthcare Records implementation
  • Data migration between systems.
