Senior Sharepoint Consultant

Location: Washington, DC
ERPi is currently seeking a full-time Senior SharePoint Consultant to provide onsite support at our Washington, DC site.
 
The Role:
ERPi provides DevOps support to our Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration client through IT project management and expertise in agile development, especially thorough Microsoft SharePoint administrators, architects, and developers.  This includes enhancement and training on existing solutions and full software development life-cycle support of new solutions.  This role also includes utilization of expertise in support of corporate-facing initiatives and growth.

The Senior SharePoint Consultant will conduct systems analysis and programming activities related to the development, maintenance, and installation of computer programs to support internal business operations. Apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts to job assignments and contribute to the development of new ideas and principles. Solve uniquely complex problems, working under consultative direction. Speak for the organization to internal and external customers regularly and work on long–range programs and objectives. Provide advice to the organization in expertise. Play a role in overall functional strategic planning.

The ideal candidate will:
  • Update existing web applications according to the feedback received from the end users or clients.
  • Test applications and websites on different web browsers to ensure a standard user experience for the clients across all platforms
  • Design back end database structures for the web applications and generating stored procedures that are complex in nature for the software's maintenance purposes
  • Research latest technologies that aid in the development of core web applications and enhance their features in the long run
  • Translate client requirements into application designs and systems requirements
  • Assist with collection and documentation of user's requirements, solutioning to meet requirements, and developing user stories and estimates
  • Problem solve and analyze while dealing with tough scenarios during coding, development, and testing phases
  • Remediate based on observations and feedback of software testing clients
 
   SharePoint Development Responsibilities:
  • Development of OOTB and custom solutions in SharePoint 2010, 2013, 2016
  • Deep knowledge of SharePoint Online
  • Creation of sites, sub-sites, lists, document libraries, workflows, and web parts
  • Development of data views and reports
  • Management of user population, permissions, and user profiles.
  • Migration from between SharePoint versions and resolution of issues
  • Movement of sites and lists within the MOSS environment
  • Analysis and troubleshooting issues
  • Translation of business requirements and use cases into functional applications
  • Design, creation and maintenance of efficient, reusable, and reliable code, architecture, and permissions to ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
 
Required Skills & Experience
  • 8-10+ years of experience with front- and back-end application development, architecture, administration, engineering, and full life cycle development (6+ years within SharePoint-specific development)
  • 4+ years of consulting experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Masters is a plus)
  • Experience producing responsive, multi–platform Web applications using a variety of integrated development environments, graphics software applications, techniques, and tools at a senior level
  • Proven experience identifying detailed levels of estimate and project risks.
  • SharePoint platform administration, design, development, and content management expertise
  • Knowledge of current Web–based technologies and current trends, including HTML5, JavaScript, AJAX, and CSS3
  • Knowledge of Web development in Microsoft SharePoint 2013 and 2016, network engineering, SQL Server databases, and desktop applications
  • Experience enforcing visual and user interface (UI)/user experience (UX) consistencies for third–party sites
  • Expertise in expanding the out–of–the–box SharePoint capabilities utilizing, including SharePoint Designer, InfoPath, Nintex, or JavaScript
  • Relational database design and query concepts
  • OS/PowerShell scripting
 
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Previous support to Department of Veterans Affairs and/or Veterans Health Administration or other federal agencies
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) preferred.
  • Experience on large transformation, system integration, and/or architecture contracts.
  •  Strong analytical skills with ability to define, collect, and analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make logical decisions.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
