Architecture and Engineering Analyst (Performance Monitoring)

ERPi is currently seeking a full-time Architecture and Engineering Analyst (Performance Monitoring) to provide onsite support at our Washington, DC site.

The Role:
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is committed to providing seamless care for Veterans, including access to a complete electronic health record (EHR) and shared, transparent care pathways with the Department of Defense (DoD) and community providers.  In order to ensure seamless care for Veterans, VA will move toward a single common system by adopting the electronic health record (EHR) system that is being deployed by DoD, which at its core consists of Cerner Millennium.   Currently the VA is undertaking an enterprise-wide Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) effort through the procurement of the Cerner commercial electronic health record software and related support services. This modernization of VA’s health information management systems will result in a common, single, lifetime health record that both DoD and VA can access, with anticipated improvements in patient care and safety.
In this role you will provide ad-hoc analysis related to EHRM and/or interoperability topics (e.g. developing BHIE transition plan). The ideal candidate must be knowledgeable regarding the Office of Electronic Health Record Modernization (OEHRM) goals & strategies and capable of developing a plan for systems integration to Monitoring Platform. This candidate must be capable of baselining the “as is” DoD and VA monitoring systems and tools, capable of being able to create “to be” monitoring goals. Candidate must be knowledgeable regarding the importance of Interoperability for Health Information Exchange between Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of Defense (DoD), and external healthcare providers.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience (13 years if degree requirement is not met).
  • Experience using monitoring tools (AppDynamics, Application Performance Management (APM) Tools, or equivalent)
  • Understanding of the challenges and obstacles faced with Interoperability
  • Must have a background with system performance monitoring
  • Experience with the development of performance monitoring dashboards
  • Experience with defining and gathering requirements
 
 
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with Strategic Interoperability Partners (DoD, Veterans Health Administration (VHA), National Cemetery Administration (NCA), Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), External Partners, Cerner)
  • VA legacy system knowledge (Bi-Directional Health Information Exchange (BHIE), Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS), VistA Web, Compensation and Pension Records Interchange (CAPRI))
  • Familiarity with Joint Legacy Viewer (JLV), Community Care, Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record (VLER)/Veterans Health Information Exchange (VHIE)Experience in the coordination, scheduling and identification of all long-term, mid-term, and near-term deployment activities
  • Experience coordinating with developers, testers, stakeholders and others to ensure that schedules and expectations are completed in a timely manner
  • Experience facilitating working groups and data calls
  • Experience with drafting status reports
  • Experience with developing Epics/User Stories
  • Understanding of how to determine Level of Effort (LOE) for project tasks
