HealthShare Expert Engineer

ERPi is currently seeking a full-time Healthcare Expert Engineer to provide onsite support at our Washington, DC site.

The Role:
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is committed to providing seamless care for Veterans, including access to a complete electronic health record (EHR) and shared, transparent care pathways with the Department of Defense (DoD) and community providers.  To ensure seamless care for Veterans, VA will move toward a single common system by adopting the electronic health record (EHR) system that is being deployed by DoD, which at its core consists of Cerner Millennium.   Currently the VA is undertaking an enterprise-wide Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) effort through the procurement of the Cerner commercial electronic health record software and related support services. This modernization of VA’s health information management systems will result in a common, single, lifetime health record that both DoD and VA can access, with anticipated improvements in patient care and safety.
This role will support the critical integration between VA and non-VA systems using Health Share Health Connect. In this role you will support legacy VistA and upcoming Cerner integration between VA and DoD system (such as JLV, DMLSS) across the SDLC from design through deployment. The ideal candidate will possess an expertise of Intersystem suite of products, in particular Cache, Ensemble and Health Share. The candidate will have proven design and deployment techniques and patterns to defer risk, ability to conduct research and identify integration issues with minimal oversight and ability to assess hardware, as well as software issues.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Experience using Health share and Health Connect in a business environment
  • Experience using JLV or DMLSS.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, computer systems, business or related scientific/technical discipline
  • At least 15 years of professional experience (23 years if degree requirement is not met).
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Experience managing information technology related projects
  • Experience with life cycle and project management methodologies
  • Experience presenting findings to senior leadership
