Clinical Consultant

Location: Falls Church, VA
The Defense Health Agency (DHA) is a joint, integrated Combat Support Agency that enables the Army, Navy, and Air Force medical services to provide a medically ready force and ready medical force to Combatant Commands in both peacetime and wartime. The DHA supports the delivery of integrated, affordable, and high-quality health services to more than 9 million Military Health System (MHS) beneficiaries and is responsible for driving greater integration of clinical and business processes across the MHS. ERPi is seeking a Clinical Outcomes Manager Intermediate with 5 years of experience to join a high performing team that supports the Defense Health Agency in program management, studies and analysis, and consultative advice on emerging trends and issues impacting decision making by the Assistant Secretary of Defense/ Health Affairs and senior DHA leaders.

The Role:
  • To support the DHA Performance Improvement Office, ERPi is currently seeking an experienced Clinical Consultant, with the following responsibilities:
  • Provides analytical management assistance by planning, coordinating and directing programs, conducting surveys and studies, and special projects.
  • Manages collection and analysis of clinical outcomes data in order to develop clinical process improvement initiatives.
  • Oversees staff that gathers data on performance metrics and facilitates the review of program effectiveness.
  • Evaluates patient care data to ensure that care is provided in accordance with clinical guidelines and organizational standards.
  • Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.
  • Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
  • Conducts research and analytical studies as well as formulate recommendations and prepares reports and correspondence.  
  • Provides analysis and reports of significant trends, patterns, and developments.
  • Develops methodologies to improve utilization of effective and appropriate services.
  • Designs and prepares technical reports, studies, and related documentation. 
  • Provides senior level training, as well as prepare and deliver presentations, and briefings as required by the task order.
  • Analyzes and interprets information from professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Presents information and responds to questions from pharmacists, physicians, staff and patients.
 
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Five years of experience in a related field, preferably at a consulting firm or in Performance Improvement for a healthcare delivery system or payer
  • Experience interacting with patient populations and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor's degree
 
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Lean Six Sigma - Black Belt or equivalent training
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret information from professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from physicians, staff and patients.
  • Experience with Military Health System.
  • Knowledge and experience using AHLTA/CHCS and Cerner.
  • Able to function effectively in a team setting.
  • Needs to demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.
