The Defense Health Agency (DHA) is a joint, integrated Combat Support Agency that enables the Army, Navy, and Air Force medical services to provide a medically ready force and ready medical force to Combatant Commands in both peacetime and wartime. The DHA supports the delivery of integrated, affordable, and high-quality health services to more than 9 million Military Health System (MHS) beneficiaries and is responsible for driving greater integration of clinical and business processes across the MHS. ERPi is seeking a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt for a high-profile project healthcare transformation initiative at the Defense Health Agency (DHA). The Lean Six Sigma Black Belt will work in a team that addresses systematic challenges facing the Military Health System as Military Treatment Facilities transition under the purview of DHA.  This resource will provide expert guidance and analysis services, coaching process improvement techniques, developing reports, briefings, and recommendations. Areas of focus may include but are not limited to business performance, project analysis, internal control, risk assessment, and support of project objectives.

The Role:
ERPi is seeking a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt for a high-profile project healthcare transformation initiative at the Defense Health Agency (DHA). The Lean Six Sigma Black Belt will work in a team that addresses systematic challenges facing the Military Health System as Military Treatment Facilities transition under the purview of DHA.  This resource will provide expert guidance and analysis services, coaching process improvement techniques, developing reports, briefings, and recommendations. Areas of focus may include but are not limited to business performance, project analysis, internal control, risk assessment, and support of project objectives.
  • Provide leadership and coaching in Lean Six Sigma principles and tools to leadership and project staff.
  • Oversee various projects to ensure solid business cases are identified, Six Sigma methodology is followed from start to end, and realization of the projects are achieved.
  • Provide leadership in interpreting customer needs and requirements, translate concepts into practice, identify process improvement opportunities, and quantify results and trends.
  • Applies various quality tools and performs root cause analysis to solve problems.
  • Makes recommendations and develops and presents formal presentations to senior leadership.
  • Identifies and shares best practices across the different organizational departments.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • BS/BA degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or business related field is required.
  • Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
  • Black Belt Certification
  • 7+ years of progressive Engineering/Operations/Project Management experience in a multi-unit environment.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience supporting Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Strong working knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean, and Kaizen tools, and problem solving / root cause analysis, and process management experience
  • Proven ability to Communicate to and Influence stakeholders
  • Strong facilitation and oral/written communication skills.
  • Good organization and planning skills, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Self-starter with a proven ability to handle multiple programs/ projects.
 
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • 3+ years of leadership experience with direct report responsibility
  • Master Black Belt Certification
  • PMP Certification
  • Experience documenting/designing business processes, performing business analysis, and requirements definition
