Junior Business Analyst

Location: Falls Church, VA
ERPi is providing consulting support across a range of functions to the Navy Bureau of Medicine & Surgery (BUMED). BUMED is Navy’s agency responsible for the delivery and management of healthcare to 3+million Navy Active Duty, retirees and dependents.  A sampling of areas supported by ERPi include:  Clinical programs, Behavioral Health, Pain Management, Medical Home Port, Operational Medicine and Health Records Management. ERPi is seeking a  Business Analyst with 0 to 1 years of experience in Consulting  to join a high performing team that supports BUMED in program management, studies and analysis, and consultative advice on emerging trends and issues impacting decision making by BUMED.

The Role:
ERPi is recruiting for qualified and motivated Entry Level Business Analysts to fill one of multiple openings we have  in support of work within both Defense Health Agency and Navy Bureau of Medicine.  These projects have elements of healthcare transformation, business process improvement, performance measurement and project management  that would be directly supported by this BA role.  More specific responsibilities are listed below:
  • Applies basic project management principles, such as building timelines, and basic project plans, to assigned tasks
  • Shape and execute various types of business process re-engineering/ improvement initiatives, including the development of workflows and related business rules
  • Defines process changes necessary to move from current state to future state of programs/projects
  • Communicates process changes to impacted stakeholders’ groups
  • Recommends and facilitates quality improvement efforts
  • Provides market research to identify industry best practices on process improvements (i.e., researching coding practices in the commercial sector and applying to client's processes)
  • Provides analytical management assistance by planning, coordinating and directing programs, conducting surveys and studies, and special projects as assigned
  • Formulates recommendations and prepares reports and correspondence

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (e.g., BS, BA)
  • 0-1 years of experience in/ exposure to business process re-engineering/improvement and system redesign methodologies, including BPR, ITIL, Lean Six Sigma, CPI, or other
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Intermediate level experience with MS Excel
  • Ability to be an innovative, resourceful, and collaborative problem solver
  • Strong organization, prioritization, team-work and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate thoughts, ideas, and solutions logically in written and oral situations
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, results-driven environment
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Prior experience with business process re-engineering/ improvement
  • Experience with federal management consulting
