Health IT Communications Consultant – EHRM

Location: Washington D.C. Metro, DC
ERPi is currently seeking a full-time Health IT Communications Consultant-EHRM to provide onsite support at our Washington, DC site.

The Role:
ERPi is providing a range of program management, and technical support activities to the VA’s Office of EHRM Program Management Office (PMO) in support of this transformative enterprise-wide effort. As a Health IT communications consultant, the ideal candidate will provide strategic communication support to assist the OEHRM in planning, writing, creating, designing, developing, coordinating, executing, implementing, disseminating, and measuring/evaluating a broad range of communications for OEHRM stakeholders. The consultant is responsible for reviewing and responding to inquiries; coordinating, tracking, reporting, and archiving responses to action items and requests for information received from multiple governmental offices and agencies; preparing leadership for meetings with stakeholders; preparing materials (multiple media) to communicate complex health IT programs. The Health IT communications consultant will work collaboratively with the communications team to ensure the messaging for EHRM is consistent across all outlets. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of large scale Government and/or private sector Integrated Health Care Systems. Additional experience and knowledge of implementation and planning efforts for commercial EHR/EMRs, for Cerner and/or Epic product offerings, and/or have experience working with the VA or a VA community partner(s) may be included. The ideal candidate will have excellent communications skills, the ability to translate technical plans, provide guidance to leaders, identify milestones/risks, and coordinate tasks to maintain timelines.  

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s preferred
  • Ten (or more) years of experience in health IT consulting, including areas such as:  communications, stakeholder engagement, participating in complex change management activities, project management, training
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with a focus on attention to detail
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Ability to be an innovative, resourceful, and a collaborative problem solver
  • Strong organization, prioritization, team-work and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate thoughts, ideas, and solutions logically in written and oral situations
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, results-driven environment
  • Ability to provide thought leadership to senior-level clients
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, tasks and deadlines concurrently
  • Ability to build and manage internal and external relationships at all levels within an organization, while possessing diplomacy and cooperative style necessary to work effectively with diverse individuals across functional disciplines

  • Ability to identify, manage, and communicate risks
 
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Knowledge of Veterans Administration including mission and requirements
  • Experience at VHA/VA preferred
  • Experience in healthcare and/or IT roles
  • Knowledge of Cerner, Epic or other commercial EHR systems
  • Knowledge of interoperability and IT standards
  • Knowledge of DoD preferred
