Clinical/Functional Planner Sr.

ERPi is currently seeking a fulltime Clinical/Functional Planner Sr. to provide support at our Washington, DC site.
 
The Role:
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is committed to providing seamless care for Veterans, including access to a complete electronic health record (EHR) and shared, transparent care pathways with the Department of Defense (DoD) and community providers.  In order to ensure seamless care for Veterans, VA will move toward a single common system by adopting the electronic health record (EHR) system that is being deployed by DoD, which at its core consists of Cerner Millennium.   Currently the VA is undertaking an enterprise-wide Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) effort through the procurement of the Cerner commercial electronic health record software and related support services. This modernization of VA’s health information management systems will result in a common, single, lifetime health record that both DoD and VA can access, with anticipated improvements in patient care and safety.
 
ERPi is providing a range of program management, and technical support activities to the VA’s EHRM Program Executive Office (PEO) in support of this transformative enterprise-wide effort.
 
As a Clinical/Functional Leader within the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Pillar, this requirement will provide strategic planning and guidance to EHRM senior leadership to support project planning and implementation. The ideal candidate will have experience leading implementation and planning efforts for commercial EHR and EMRs, will be knowledgeable in Cerner and Epic product offerings, and/or have experience working with the VA or a VA community partner(s). The ideal candidate will have excellent communications skills, and the ability to translate technical plans and provide guidance to leaders, identifying milestones, risks and coordinating tasks to maintain timelines.
 
 
Required Skills and Experience:
  • 15+ years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline (Masters preferred)
  • Experience managing programs, including creating project plans, risk matrix, and tracking deliverables.
  • Experience working on teams evaluating clinical workflows and planning for  coordinating with technical teams to plan for future state software and hardware.
  • Experience working planning for and/or implementing Cerner or EPIC health records in commercial setting
  • Knowledge of existing VA’s EHR (VistA), in particular the data components Strong organizational and prioritization skills (preferred)
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, result-driven environment
  • Ability to build and manage internal and external relationships at all levels within an organization while possessing diplomacy and cooperative style necessary to work effectively with diverse individuals across functional disciplines
  • Ability to think strategically to effectively assess clients’ situation and assemble service solutions to meet clients’ needs
  • Knowledge of Veterans Administration, including mission, requirements and ability to quickly respond to high visibility requests.
 
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with planning, deployment and implementation in a commercial health setting
  • PMP Certification or other PMI Certifications
  • Knowledge of Cerner, Epic or other commercial EHR systems
  • Knowledge of existing VA’s EHR (VistA), in particular the data components Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to think strategically to effectively assess clients’ situation and assemble service solutions to meet clients’ needs
  • Knowledge of Veterans Administration, including mission, requirements and ability to quickly respond to high visibility requests.
