Strategic Communications Specialist

Location: Washington, DC
ERPi is currently seeking a fulltime Strategic Communications Specialist to provide onsite support at our Washington, DC site.

The Role:
ERPi’s Strategic Communications Specialist will develop and deliver a communications strategy supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs program office priorities and initiatives. Efforts include developing a consistent internal and external messaging strategy that is reflected across all program office initiatives. This position will develop communications key messaging and talking points for the Senior Leadership team, including presentation development, as well as thought leadership and support with Executive and SECVA-level briefings. The Strategic Communications Specialist will lead and execute against all communication planning and activities related to strategically positioning the mission and rollout strategy for the program office, specifically with a focus on coordination with change management. The Strategic Communication Specialist will provide communications support to organizational leaders as change sponsors to enable the effective management of messaging and positioning of the measurement solution throughout the Enterprise of VA lines of business and will assist organizational front-line supervisors and staff with training and interpretation of the VEO measurement system.

Tasks may include: Performing communications strategy and planning, responding to external information requests, congressional relations, executive correspondence and presentations, stakeholder outreach, community relationship management, communications product and proposal development, social media development, social media monitoring, communications metrics, video production & posting on social media platforms.
 
Required Skills and Experience:
  • A minimum of 8 years experience in communications and outreach
  • Experience in social media and web communications
  • Provides subject matter expertise in communications and outreach
  • Experience providing support directly to corporate leadership and Federal Government Executives.
  • Coordinate with Change Management
  • Manage day-to-day client relationships and communications and represent ERPi at client progress meetings and briefings.
  • Prepare progress reports and client briefings.
  • Prepare quality client deliverables
  • Review deliverables for appropriate 508 compliance
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Journalism, Public Relations, or Communications.
 
 
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Master’s Degree in Business, Journalism, Public Relations, or Communications
  • Change Management Certification
  • Experience Supporting VA Healthcare and/or Communications projects
  • A desire to be involved in Firm sales, marketing, and business development efforts
