Sr. Sharepoint Developer

Location: Fairfax, VA
ERPi is currently seeking a full-time Senior SharePoint Developer to provide onsite support at our Fairfax, VA site.
 
The Role:
ERPi supports engineering/facility management programs and technology tools for the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), and all associated owned and leased VHA facilities within all VHA Networks. We support the “Environment of Care” which has a ubiquitous presence throughout VHA, enabling and supporting virtually every aspect of patient care provided to Veterans.
 
Conducts systems analysis and programming activities related to the development, maintenance, and installation of computer programs to support internal business operations. Apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts to job assignments and contribute to the development of new ideas and principles. Solve uniquely complex problems, working under consultative direction. Speak for the organization to internal and external customers regularly and work on long–range programs and objectives. Provide advice to the organization in expertise. Play a role in overall functional strategic planning.
 
Required Skills & Experience
  • 6-8+ years of experience with software engineering and full life cycle development
  • Experience with producing responsive, multi–platform Web applications using a variety of integrated development environments, graphics software applications, techniques, and tools at a senior level
  • Experience with advanced workflows, multi–group permissions, and sub–site management, enforcing visual and user interface (UI)/user experience (UX) consistencies for third–party sites, and expanding the capabilities of out–of–the–box SharePoint, including SharePoint Designer, CSS, HTML5, or JavaScript
  • Experience with procurement and related processes and workflows
  • Developing the web-based software using computer programming languages such as VB.net, C# and Microsoft SQL
  • Creating and maintaining the ASP.NET based websites and their web applications as per the initial guidelines of the client
  • Making changes to existing web applications according to the feedback received from the end users or clients. In most cases, changes are also made to update the application's compatibility with the latest operating systems
  • Testing the applications and websites on different web browsers to ensure a standard user experience for the clients across all platforms
  • Designing back end database structures for the web applications and generating stored procedures that are complex in nature for the software's maintenance purposes
  • Finding information about latest technologies that aid in the development of core web applications and enhance their features in the long run
  • Ability to translate client requirements into application designs and systems requirements
  • Ability to assist with the collection and documentation of user's requirements, develop user stories, estimates, synchronization, security, and accessibility of production Web and business applications
  • Understanding the life cycle of software and determining any changes that may be needed as per the observations and feedback of software testing clients
  • Bachelors degree (Masters is a plus)
  • PMP Certification desirable
  
ASP.NET development: 
 
  • In depth knowledge about the ASP.NET framework, C# and VB languages and CSS as these are the most used tools in the world of ASP.NET
  • Good knowledge about HTML and XML markup languages as these are essential for any web development task
  • Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills while solving a problem and optimizing the overall application
 SharePoint development:
  • Develop custom code in SharePoint 2010, 2013
  • Creation of sites, sub-sites, and sub areas
  • Development of data views
  • Management of user population
  • Moving sites and lists within the MOSS environment
  • Implementation of features and web parts
  • SharePoint workflow
  • Help migrate SharePoint from 2010 to 2013
  • Resolve issue related to migration from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013
  • SharePoint Pages
  • Lists, Document, Library and web Parts
  • Permission, workflow and user profile settings
  • Analyze and troubleshoot issues within the system
  • Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills while dealing with tough scenarios during coding, development and testing phases
  • Knowledge of Web development in Microsoft SharePoint 2013 and 2016, network engineering, SQL Server databases, and desktop applications
  • Knowledge of relational database design and query concepts
  • Knowledge of current Web–based technologies and trends, including HTML 5, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS3, and media queries, OS/PowerShell scripting and SharePoint Platform and Content Management development
 
 
 Desired Skills & Experience: 
  • Support to Department of Veterans Affairs and/or Veterans Health Administration.
  • 3 or more years of consulting experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) preferred.
  • Experience on large transformation, system integration, and/or architecture contracts.
  • Understanding and proven application of project management best practices such as PMI’s PMBOK.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to define, collect, and analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make logical decisions.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Proven experience developing detailed project plans, project budgets, resource plans, and risk management plans.
  • Experience in collaborating maturely with various teams and audiences at a senior level
  • Experience with participating in the migration of existing sites and Web applications to a Content Management System, including SharePoint, or HTML 5 Web application
  • Experience with developing, deploying, and supporting SharePoint 2013 sites using languages and tools, including HTML5, CSS, SharePoint Designer, or InfoPath
  • Knowledge of various past and present IT solutions
