General Management Consultant Lead– Mental Health

Location: Washington, DC
ERPi is currently seeking a fulltime General Management Consultant Manager-Mental Health to provide onsite support at our Washington, DC site.
 
The Role:
An average of 20 Veterans die as a result of suicide every day and of those, 14 may have received no care from the Veterans Health Administration. Suicide prevention through providing care and assistance to all individuals, even those not enrolled in services is of utmost importance to VA Secretary, David Shulkin. ERPi is seeking researchers and or policy experts to develop national and by-state data to conduct ongoing data surveillance to inform evidence based and innovative suicide prevention practices, promulgate information among stakeholders and provide input to assist the Government in the development of new policy based on the results of data analysis, all oriented towards upstream intervention and prevention of Veteran suicide.

In support of this effort, ERPi is looking for qualified General Management Consultants to:
 
  • Research promising and best practices related to mental health and suicide prevention
  • Perform data surveillance and analytics to inform trends regionally
  • Based on evidence, identify innovative suicide prevention practices
  • Disseminate information amongst key stakeholders to inform new policy.
  • Develop various types of work products (e.g., reports, analytical decks, etc.)that translate detailed analytical results into compelling business rationale for proposed organizational changes
  • Develop a strategic roadmap and plan for the evolution of a national VHA policy to prevent Veteran suicide.
 
Required Skills and Experience:
In response to the President's recent Executive order, VA has a need to rapidly assemble a team of (est.4-8) researchers and policy experts to capture/develop national and by-state data related to Veteran suicide, conduct ongoing data surveillance to inform evidence based and innovative suicide prevention practices, promulgate information among stakeholders and provide input to assist the Government in the development of new policy based on the results of data analysis, all oriented towards upstream intervention and prevention of Veteran suicide.
 
  • Master’s Degree (e.g., MS, MA)
  • Ten (or more) years of experience in management consulting, including areas such as: Leading research, directing policy analysis, policy development, stakeholder engagement, mental health, suicide prevention, data analytics
  • Proven leadership conducting or participating in complex change management activities, studies, and reviews, particularly in the mental health arena.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with a focus on attention to detail
  • Ability to process complex research findings into pointed, meaningful policy-oriented narratives
  • Ability to be an innovative, resourceful, and a collaborative problem solver
  • Strong organization, prioritization, team-work and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate thoughts, ideas, and solutions logically in written and oral situations
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, results-driven environment
  • Ability to provide thought leadership to senior level client leadership
  • Proven ability to conceptualize research that is timely, policy relevant, and contemporary
  • Effectively manage multiple projects, tasks and deadlines
 
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Experience at VHA preferred
  • Experience with mental health and/or suicide prevention in the Federal space
  • Research and policy experience using statistical programming tools such as R, Python, Tableau, etc. a plus
