Operations Manager - Industrial Engineer

Location: Washington, DC

ERPi is currently seeking a full time Operations Manager-Industrial Engineer to provide onsite support at our Washington, DC site.
 
The Role:
  • Within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) is looking to modernize its operating model for claims processing, including increased use of outsourcing that necessitates the design and stand up of managed services operations and accompanying total quality programs
  • Supervise/manage all aspects of a managed services operation, including production planning/monitoring, workload forecasting, workload processing, quality control/assurance, management analysis and reporting (e.g., performance, financial, etc.), personnel management, operations troubleshooting, and other general business management activities (as needed in response to operations)
  • Lead the design and implementation of Total Quality programs that will be used in continuous improvement and quality assurance of managed service operations
  • Lead the design and implementation of new operations (i.e., process, people, technology elements), including continuous improvement of operations via operations research, process optimization, process improvement, Six Sigma, Lean (or LSS), or other types of Industrial Engineering analytical efforts
  • Lead the identification and development of process automation solutions, including technology such as robotic process automation
  • Conduct client relations and serve as the primary point of client communication and coordination for all operations activity
 
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (e.g., BS, BA)
  • Four years of experience in operations management, preferably managed services environments
  • Experience and knowledge in functional skill areas such as:  Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Process Improvement/Reengineering, Lean, Six Sigma, Performance Measurement/Management, Total Quality Management, Implementation/Migration Planning
  • Experience applying Operations Management or Managed/Shared Services functional skills in a management consulting environment
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on attention to detail
  • Ability to be an innovative, resourceful, and collaborative problem solver
  • Strong organization, prioritization, team-work and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate thoughts, ideas, and solutions logically in written and oral situations
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, results-driven environment
  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer and in the use of Microsoft Office applications
 
Additional Skills and Experience:
  • Experience and/or knowledge of medical claims processing
  • Managed services operations

Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance:  Must be US Citizen
