The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is committed to providing seamless care for Veterans, including access to a complete electronic health record (EHR) and shared, transparent care pathways with the Department of Defense (DoD) and community providers.  In order to ensure seamless care for Veterans, VA will move toward a single common system by adopting the electronic health record (EHR) system that is being deployed by DoD, which at its core consists of Cerner Millennium.   Currently the VA is undertaking an enterprise-wide Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) effort through the procurement of the Cerner commercial electronic health record software and related support services. This modernization of VA’s health information management systems will result in a common, single, lifetime health record that both DoD and VA can access, with anticipated improvements in patient care and safety.

ERPi is providing a range of program management, administrative, and technical support activities to the VA’s EHRM Program Executive Office (PEO) in support of this transformative and high-profile enterprise-wide effort. The scope of this program includes PMO support of the EHRM, including the maintenance, enhancement and decommissioning of supporting legacy health systems and support for all projects and programs required for the success of the EHRM.
In this vital VA EHR transformation, we are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to support the business process development and improvements. The Quality Assurance Manager must have experience in creating and implementing a detailed plan to ensure overall quality of all IT products, services and systems.  The candidate must have experience in resolving all project or program release problems and take corrective action, escalating as needed, to resolve and achieve results.  The candidate must also have experience in assuring the viability, functionality and effectiveness of essential tools.

Role Description:

This position will provide functional analysis to identify, review, and document product/project functional and technical requirements. Assess and maintain the product/project-level requirements documents in order to capture current requirements details, test strategies, and plans and procedures. Familiarity with Unit, and SQA testing processes and management. Familiarity with the following is preferred:
 
  • VA VistA or similar EHR systems (e.g. IHS RPMS)
  • Commercial Health IT software, in particular Cerner Millennium
  • VA and DoD organizations, as it relates to Interagency health space
  • Understanding of Health IT systems and processes
  • Functional knowledge of Laboratory processes and software
 
Required Skills and Experience:
  • BA/BS degree;
  • 10 years of experience in quality assurance with requirements, test strategies, and plans and procedures.
